Leafs vs. Jets AKA. Live from Leafs Nation just south of Portage and Main.
Both teams have been on a streak. The Leafs were on a three game winning streak and the Jets were down just as many. The two teams meet up on Wednesday, and event that will be rather confusing for me as a fan of both teams.
I will be cheering for the Leafs, there’s no question about that.
However I also want to see the Jets play well. So far Winnipeg has shown it has the enthusiasm it takes to support an NHL team, but now it’s up to the team to work and the organization come in to its own.
The Leafs have a better chance of real success this season. They are off to a good start, not exactly blowing their competitors away, but learning how to win games. Kessel, Phaneuf, Lupul and Reimer are all playing well and the team seems more cohesive.
As a fan of both teams I feel the Leafs deserve to win the Stanley Cup more than the Jets or any other team in the NHL. It hasn’t happened since ‘67, and many say it will never happen again, but I don’t believe that. Maybe it won’t happen this year? Oh well. I’m a Leafs fan, I’m used to being let down.
